Its many points of interest are best reached by car from Koriyama or Fukushima, the two main bullet-train stops of the JR Tohoku Shinkansen Line located within the prefecture. After alighting at either of these stations, hire a taxi or a rental car to see the sights. Both the Joban Expressway and Route 6 run the length of Hamadori, and will get you to most places you’ll want to visit. The JR Joban Line linking Tokyo and Sendai travels through Hamadori close by the coast. While the trains depart less frequently between Iwaki and Sendai, this scenic route—rolling through small towns and within view of the mountains further inland—makes for a wonderful leisurely trip. Once you arrive at the station nearest your final destination, a car is the best way to see the sights. Getting to and around Hamadori
