bcaThis common use facility develops and tests remote control devices for use in advancing the decommissioning of TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. Visitors can experience VR that partially replicates the inner part of the nuclear reactor building, conduct remote operation of robots, and tour the test facilities. This technical development and demonstration test facility is aimed at advancing the decommissioning of TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. Consisting of the research management building equipped with a virtual reality system that can be used for planning and training for decommissioning among others, and a test building equipped with robotic test equipment, it enables external users to conduct various full-scale mock-up tests for decommissioning. NARREC was built with the objective of becoming a central hub for remote technology development, providing the necessary environment for demonstration testing of remote technologies and dissemination of information.A home for all, filled with the sentiments of the townspeopleMinna-no-Koryukan Naraha CANvas (Community Space) Built within the compact “Emifuru Town Naraha” in the centre of Naraha, this exchange facility was designed on the basis of the ideas expressed at the townspeople’s workshops.
